Midweek Confessions: April 4

Love me some Midweek Confessions! If you haven't yet, you should really check out some of the other posts linked up. It's both therapeutic and hysterical!

• I am a full fledged adult, and I still have yet to master the art of using an umbrella. It was pouring last weekend when I left the grocery store, and I luckily had my handy-dandy umbrella in my purse. I made it to the car dry, but by the time I got into the car, I was soaking wet and so was my car door. How the heck does that work?
• I decided this week what the most annoying sound in the world is my dogs licking themselves. Ick! Our little one likes to lay in our bed and lick her paws in the middle of the night and it drives me insane. Good thing she is so cute to make up for the annoyingness: 

•  My aunt's family owns a beach house in Old Orchard Beach, Maine; for the past 15 years we have been have family reunions there. Josh and I haven't been since 2009 but we are going this year! It's not until the end of July/begninng of August. My confession is that I am not sure I can wait that long. Here's what I've got to look forward to:

• As soon as I get this posted I am heading to the grocery store. I finally figured out when our local Winn Dixie puts their meats on clearance and I have scored some really great deals. I am ridiculously excited to see what I will find today!

TGIF!

This week was a good week! Here's my top five...

1. My iPhone, which took a toilet bowl swim on Monday, came back to life with no issues! Hallelujah! Now I can get back to playing Scramble with Friends and Temple Run!

2. I came home from the grocery store on Sunday to find this:

They totally love him more than me, and I think it's adorable. 

 3. Tuesday night we started a study called "Experiencing God's Dream for Your Marriage" with another couple from our church. I am really excited about this! 

4. This weekend I am making Jalapeno Popper Rolls and Banana Pudding (both from Pinterest) for our life group's super bowl party. YUM!

5. This quote, which I have posted near my work computer, has been such a good reminder to me this week!

Puppy Love

Josh and I don't have kids yet, but we do have two furry friends that think they are our kids.

We adopted both of our dogs without knowing much about them. Riley (the big lab/shepherd mix) came from a Walmart parking lot where a man was giving away puppies for free. June (the little terrier) came from an ad on Craiglist. We lucked out, though, and both of our girls are sweet, playful and generally well behaved.

And now, because I am too tired to write an actual post, I will shower you with pictures of the furballs:

Our girls get along really well with each other, too. They snuggle together and play together, and share their toys without fighting. 

I can only hope that one day when we do have kids, they get along as easily! (Yeah, right. I probably just cursed myself!)

Merry Christmas Eve!

While tomorrow might be the "big day," Christmas Eve feels like a holiday in and of itself to me.

I grew up with Santa coming on Christmas Eve, opening presents late into the night, and sleeping by the fireplace. Christmas Eve was (and is) just as important to me as Christmas Day.

This morning, Josh & I opened our stockings and ate a yummy Crockpot Breakfast Casserole. Our puppies got to open their stocking too, and loved their new toys...

June's favorite thing in the world is chewing, so she got a new Nylabone that should (hopefully) last her while.

 Both girls got new stuffed toys too, which will probably survive for about 24 hours before being reduced to a piece of fabric. But it's Christmas, so if they want to rip all the stuffing out of their toys, it's okay by me.

This afternoon, we will head to the Christmas Eve service at our church, where I am looking forward to singing Christmas carols and reflecting on the birth of our Savior.
